DIRTY NAPKIN

In 2023, I co-founded Dirty Napkin with three friends out of an eagerness to work on more branding projects. We didn’t know much about design studio-ing, but the process of experiential learning has taught me a ton about client relations, business strategy, presenting, project management, and of course, graphic design.

These projects are collective works with my awesome co-founders Evan Whitaker, Nicholas Evangelinos, and Noah Simon.

This experience of being at the core of a small studio has only made me more excited to work at a studio or in-house team after graduation. Below are our 4 most recent client projects:

THE WINDOW

The Window is the new take-out restaurant for Philly landmark Bob & Barbara’s Lounge. We designed our own altered checkerboard grid with gooey squares as a visual tie to the menu of greasey comfort food, American diner tiles, and the Bob & Barbara’s interior. The Window was featured in Philadelphia Magazine.

THOSE EYES

Those Eyes is a psychological thriller about a man who is chased through different environments by a mysterious figure. A design system of hand-made physical collage was crucial to juxtaposing the variety of locations and filming styles, and to pay tribute to practical effects and independent filmmaking.

AMERICAN SCRIPTURE PROJECT

American Scripture Project is an educational curriculum cultivating civil discourse on democracy through the lens of historic texts. We built the design system from stamps and grids inspired by American immigration paperwork, extra white space on the ASP handouts so that participants could write notes, and a dog-eared document logo with multiple nods to American iconography.

THe lemonade stand

The Lemonade Stand is an underground performing arts production company producing and celebrating fresh contemporary works in Philly. As our first “design sprint,” we designed this logo in two weeks with meetings squeezed into lunch breaks, nights, and weekends, and it was so much fun.
